Breast augmentation in Zaragoza: what it is and what it can achieve

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) notes that breast augmentation provides fullness and projection, but it does not lift a very sagging breast; in that case a lift is needed. The full explanation is on that page.

Who is it for? Candidate and age

It suits a healthy woman whose breasts are already developed and who is neither pregnant nor breastfeeding. As for age, in its 2014 guidance for patients SECPRE advised against operating on minors for cosmetic reasons. Beyond that there is no ideal age: the maturity of the decision and a stable weight matter more.

Your first consultation in Zaragoza

You book by calling +34 608 95 04 84, and the clinic, on Escoriaza y Fabro, is open Monday to Friday, from 10:00 to 20:00. At the visit your reasons and your health are reviewed, your breasts are measured and photographs are taken; you leave with the options clear and with no obligation to have the operation.

Implants: shape, size and cubic centimetres

Round or anatomical?

Implants can be round or anatomical, teardrop-shaped, and contain silicone or saline, according to the ASPS. Round ones tend to give more fullness in the upper part; anatomical ones follow the shape of the breast. Neither is better in the abstract: the choice depends on the tissue you have and what you are looking for.

Size: why 350 cc does not look the same on everyone

A very common question is how 350 cubic centimetres will look. The honest answer is that it depends on the body where they are placed: the same volume looks one way on a narrow chest and another on a wide one, and it does not match a bra size either, which each manufacturer defines in its own way.

That is why volume is not chosen by a figure. The starting points are the width of your chest, your skin and tissue and the shape of the breast, and from there come the base, projection and volume of the implant. Before deciding, ask how they will show you the expected result on your own body.

Brand, model and documentation

Insist on being given the details of your implant: brand, model and serial number. Regulation (EU) 2017/745 on medical devices provides for an implant card with that information. And remember a warning from SECPRE: a price far lower than the rest should make you doubt the implant.

Where it is placed, how it is reached and other cases

The surgeon proposes the position of the implant and the route of entry (the fold under the breast, the areola or the armpit) according to your anatomy. If what you need is to lift the breast, we talk about a mastopexy; if the base is narrow, about tuberous breasts; and if you already have implants, about a breast implant exchange.

Preliminary tests, anaesthesia and discharge

SECPRE recommends a breast ultrasound if you are under 40 and a mammogram from that age. The operation takes place in an operating theatre, and SECPRE favours general anaesthesia; the final decision is the medical team's, case by case. When discharge is immediate, someone must take you, collect you and stay with you that night.

Who operates on you for breast augmentation in Zaragoza, and where?

In Zaragoza the assessment and the check-ups we indicate take place. Registered plastic surgeons of Clínica EGOS operate. Before you book a date, we tell you in writing who will operate on you, with their registration number with the medical association, and at which centre, with its health registration number.

The State Register of Healthcare Professionals (Registro Estatal de Profesionales Sanitarios) records their specialty; their registration is checked with the Spanish Medical Association (Organización Médica Colegial); and the registration of the centre falls, in Aragon, to the Government of Aragon. SECPRE also asks that the operating theatre be in a hospital or in a clinic prepared for any emergency.

Recovery

The ASPS places the easing of intense pain between the first and fifth day, and the swelling goes down over several weeks. The support bra, work, sport and sun are resumed step by step, with your surgeon's permission.

Follow-up and life with implants

In its guidance SECPRE warns that breast implants do not last forever and proposes a medical check-up every year. In addition, weight, pregnancies and the years keep changing the breast.

If you live outside the capital

If you come from another district of Aragon (from Huesca, Teruel or Calatayud, for example), find out how many visits there will be and which ones the Zaragoza clinic can cover, and arrange well in advance who will go with you on the day of the operation.

Quote for breast augmentation in Zaragoza: what it includes and what it depends on

We do not give an amount before examining you: it depends on the technique, the implant chosen and what is seen at the consultation.

You should receive a written, itemised quote: team fees, operating theatre and stay if there is one, anaesthesia, implants with their documentation, check-ups and later materials, such as the bra. Ask too what happens should a touch-up prove necessary later.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a breast augmentation in Zaragoza cost and what does it depend on?

Until we have examined you, no amount is possible; it is determined by the technique and the implant. You then receive a written, itemised quote; ask whether it includes the implant with its documentation, the anaesthesia, the operating theatre and the check-ups.

How do 350 cc look and how do I choose the size?

It depends on your body: the same volume looks different on each chest and is not equivalent to a bra size. We start from your measurements and the images you bring, not from a figure, and you are shown how it would look on your body.

Round or anatomical implants?

Round ones give more fullness at the top and anatomical ones follow the shape of the breast. Neither is better in general: the choice depends on your tissue and what you are looking for.

Is there a better age to have the operation?

There is no ideal age. SECPRE advises against operating on minors for cosmetic reasons, and the ASPS asks that the breasts be developed and that the decision be your own; after that, the stability of your weight and your circumstances weigh more than age.
