Breast augmentation in Granada

Are you looking for breast augmentation in Granada? You have probably already read a lot and compared even more: which implant, which surgeon, which clinic, how many appointments are needed. This page focuses on what matters most when you decide in Granada rather than in a big city: who operates on you, where, and what the follow-up is like if you live in the province.

Breast augmentation in Granada · Clínica EGOS

For your breast augmentation in Granada, Clínica EGOS has a clinic at avenida de la Constitución, 42, where you can start with an initial assessment. You will find the general details of the operation, the anaesthesia and the recovery in our breast augmentation guide; here we stick to what changes at this clinic.

What is breast augmentation and who is it considered for?

It is the operation that increases the volume of the breasts or improves their shape or symmetry; many people call it a breast operation, and its medical name is augmentation mammoplasty. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) considers a suitable candidate to be a healthy woman who is not expecting a baby or breastfeeding, whose breasts are fully developed and who has realistic expectations, and who wants it for herself rather than to please someone else.

For aesthetic purposes, SECPRE itself asks you to wait until the age of majority.

How to choose a surgeon for breast augmentation in Granada?

No list can tell you who the right surgeon is for you. What does exist are objective checks that apply to any clinic, ours included.

That they are a qualified specialist

SECPRE advises asking the surgeon for a document proving their official specialty: Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery. You can check it in the State Register of Healthcare Professionals, run by the Spanish Ministry of Health.

That they are registered with the medical association

Every practising doctor must be registered with the medical association of the province where their main practice is, which need not be Granada. The number can be checked in the public register of registered doctors of the Organización Médica Colegial or with that association.

That they operate in a properly equipped operating theatre

According to SECPRE, the operating theatre must be in a centre that has everything needed in an emergency. The registers of authorised centres are kept by the autonomous communities; in Granada, the Junta de Andalucía. With the centre's registration number you can check it.

That they tell you about alternatives and limits

A surgeon worth trusting tells you what can be done, what cannot and what other options there are, including waiting or not having surgery. The ASPS describes the consultation as the place where options are discussed, a treatment is recommended and the likely results are explained.

That they give you time

If you are asked to decide at the same visit or are given an offer with a deadline, that is a sign to stop. The decision is yours and can be taken calmly.

Before you book a date, we tell you in writing who will operate on you, with their registration number with the medical association, and at which centre, with its health registration number.

What is your first consultation in Granada like?

Our plastic surgery clinic in Granada is on the first floor of number 42, avenida de la Constitución (18012). It is open from Monday to Friday, from 10:00 to 20:00; the number to book an appointment is +34 690 78 00 00. The assessment does not commit you to anything: it is the time to ask, not to decide.

What if the problem is not just volume?

According to the ASPS, breast augmentation does not correct very droopy breasts. If sagging is the main issue, a breast lift may be needed, sometimes in the same operation and sometimes in a later one. The surgeon decides this when examining you.

Different techniques are also considered when the breasts have a narrow base and an elongated shape, or when one is clearly larger than the other. If you would like to read more, we have pages on mastopexy and on tuberous breasts.

Implant, placement and your own fat: the essentials

The essentials: the shape, width and projection of the implant come from your measurements, and the surgeon decides whether it goes in front of or behind the muscle and where it is inserted (under the breast, around the areola or in the armpit) according to your tissue and your activity. The alternative to implants is to transfer fat from another area of your body, for moderate changes.

The operation and recovery: the essentials

The operation is carried out in an operating theatre under anaesthesia; the type, and whether there is an overnight stay, are decided by the medical team after studying your case.

The support bra and rest mark the first few days; the swelling takes weeks to go down and the surgeon sets when to return to work and exercise.

If you live outside Granada city: visits and follow-up

If you are coming from Motril, Guadix, Loja, Baza or another town, the schedule matters as much as the operation: the assessment, the day of the procedure with someone to drive you and stay with you that night, the check-up in the first few days and those of the first year.

Ask how many visits there will be, where each one will take place, who will see you at them and whom to call if a question comes up between appointments. Planning work, help at home and, if you have young children in your care, who looks after them those days, reduces stress and lets you rest.

Which documents to keep, and why?

After the operation, gather four documents: the report of the procedure, the implant card, the manufacturer's documentation and the post-operative instructions. The implant card is provided for by the European medical devices regulation (Regulation (EU) 2017/745, article 18) and records the model, batch and serial number.

Keep them together, on paper and as a photo on your phone. These are what any surgeon will ask you for if you ever change city, doctor or implant, and what you will be most grateful for if a check-up catches you away from Granada.

How often should the implant be checked, and how long does it last?

According to SECPRE's 2014 guidelines, there are no breast prostheses that last a lifetime and a clinical check-up every year is advised. If you already have implants and want to have them checked or replaced, we have a specific page on breast implant replacement.

Breast augmentation quote in Granada: what it should include

We do not give a figure before meeting you, because the cost depends on the technique, the implant and what is decided after examining you. What matters is that the quote arrives in writing and itemised: the team's fees, operating theatre, anaesthesia, implants, hospital stay, check-ups and subsequent materials, such as the bra.

Be wary of prices far below the rest and ask which implant the quote includes: SECPRE advises distrusting prostheses with comparatively very cheap prices. And of offers with a deadline or a countdown: a decision like this is not made in a hurry.

How do I book an appointment in Granada and what are the clinic's opening hours?

You can call +34 690 78 00 00 or fill in the form on this page. The clinic is open from Monday to Friday, from 10:00 to 20:00, at avenida de la Constitución, 42, first floor.

Where will I be operated on and who will operate?

Whoever operates on you will be a registered plastic surgeon of Clínica EGOS. Before you fix the date, you receive in writing the surgeon's name, their registration number with the medical association and the centre where you will be operated on, with its health registration number.

Who are the best breast augmentation surgeons in Granada?

There is no objective ranking, and be wary of anyone who offers one. Compare what can be checked: specialist qualification, registration with the medical association, the centre, the implant documentation and how the alternatives are explained to you, including not having surgery.

Can I replace or remove my implants?

Yes. The condition of the implant and what you are looking for are assessed at the consultation, and a replacement, a removal or both with another technique may be possible. We have a page dedicated to breast implant replacement.

How much does breast augmentation in Granada cost?

There is no figure before the assessment, because it depends on the technique and the implant. Afterwards you receive a written, itemised quote; ask what it includes and whether it covers subsequent dressings.

How long is the recovery from breast augmentation?

The support bra and rest set the pace for the first few days, and the swelling takes weeks to go down. Your surgeon decides when you can return to work and exercise in your case.

Implants or your own fat?

The shape, width and projection of the implant come from your measurements. The alternative is to transfer fat from another part of your body, which works for moderate changes.

I live in the province: how many visits are there?

The assessment, the day of the operation (with someone to take you and stay with you that night), the check-up in the first few days and those during the first year. Ask which ones take place in Granada and who to call between appointments.
