Liposuction in Madrid
Liposuction in Madrid comes down to four steps that are worth putting in order before you book: which areas are operated on, with which technique, how much your skin and your weight count, and which clinic suits you best for the consultations. In this guide to liposuction at Clínica EGOS we go through them in that order.

It is a contouring surgery and not a way of losing weight. We hold consultations at five clinics in the Community of Madrid, and the Chamberí one is our cosmetic surgery clinic in Madrid.
What is liposuction in Madrid?
It is an operation that removes localised fat from specific areas to shape the silhouette, and the NHS adds that it does not remove cellulite or stretch marks either. At EGOS we offer it as VASER lipo, that is, with ultrasound.
Which area is treated first and which can go together?
At the consultation you do not choose "a liposuction": you choose a map of areas, and the surgeon suggests which to treat at the same time and which separately. Each area has its own page: abdomen, flanks, back, thighs, arms and double chin. If you want a defined abdomen, first read what abdominal etching is; if the fat on your legs does not behave like the rest, the guide to lipoedema helps you tell. And if you want to use the fat to add volume, see buttock augmentation in Madrid.
What is known about VASER lipo compared with other techniques?
The review by Atieh and colleagues (Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, 2025) found only five studies directly comparing VASER lipo with traditional liposuction, and warns that offering it, with the promise of contour and tightening without visible scarring, to someone with a lot of fat or loose or excess skin who would need a more invasive surgery can be somewhat misleading. The technique that suits you is decided at the consultation, after examining the area.
How much do your weight and your habits count, and how do we discuss it at EGOS?
Liposuction changes where the fat is, not how you live. According to the NHS, it only makes sense if you have already tried to change your habits and it has not been enough. At EGOS, the clearest results are seen in people close to their ideal weight, and if there is significant excess weight we can direct you to our weight loss unit, where doctors, nutritionist-dietitians and psychologists work.
Bring to the consultation your weight over the last few months and the one you want to maintain: with that information, the surgeon can tell you whether it makes sense to operate now or to wait.
And if what is left over is skin? Liposuction, arm lift and thigh lift
Liposuction removes fat, but not skin. To know what is needed, the surgeon starts by looking at what the skin is like and how far it stretches, and the ASPS explains this in two 2026 articles with interviews with surgeons.
In the one on arms, from 14 July, one of the surgeons interviewed says that hanging skin is the clearest sign that removing only fat is not enough and that stretch marks can also indicate that the skin has lost its ability to retract. The surgeons also look at the proportion of the arm to the forearm and to the rest of the body, and put forward an honest choice: some people prefer the best possible arm in exchange for a scar, and others prefer a more modest result so as not to have one. In the one on thighs, from 30 June, they arrive at the same point: if the skin is firm, liposuction can give a good result; if it has lost elasticity, skin has to be removed, from a limited lift, with the scar in the groin crease, to a longer vertical one along the inner thigh. And for anyone who needs skin removed, they add that combining some targeted liposuction is almost the norm.
Removing skin is a different operation. The arm lift is something else: it takes between two and three hours, under general anaesthetic and with an incision on the inner side of the arm, and may require a hospital stay of 24 to 48 hours. The thigh lift takes between two and three hours, with 24 hours of rest and a recovery of about 15 days. That is why it is worth knowing from the first visit which of the two plans is yours.
For the abdomen, the equivalent is abdominoplasty in Madrid. And if you have excess skin after major weight loss, carry on with the guide to loose skin after losing weight.
What do we give you in writing before you have surgery?
Before you book a date we tell you in writing who will operate on you, with their medical registration number, and at which centre, with its health registration number. With those two pieces of information you can check the registration with the Medical Association and the centre in the register of healthcare centres of the autonomous community where it is located. We also give you the quote in writing.
What is the procedure like and when do you return to your routine?
At EGOS VASER lipo is done under general anaesthetic, which the anaesthetist specifies, and takes around three hours, depending on how many areas are treated. Whether you go home the same day or spend the night at the centre is decided by the team according to the areas and the anaesthetic. The initial recovery, at EGOS, is around a week, and the surgeon adapts it to your case. What changes with each area, such as the garment or when you go back to sport, is on the page for each one and we give it to you in writing.
Where do we hold liposuction consultations in Madrid?
We have three clinics in the city and two in the Community of Madrid. One single switchboard serves all five, +34 932 71 80 69, and one single email, info@clinicaegos.com. The ratings Google showed on 21 October 2026 were a 4.6 for Chamberí, from 321 reviews; a 4.8 for Retiro, from 166; a 4.8 for Castellana, from 55; a 4.9 for Móstoles, from 26, and a 5.0 for Alcobendas, from 11.

Alcobendas: paseo de Fuente Lucha, 20, postcode 28100. Móstoles: avenida del Alcalde de Móstoles, 8, postcode 28933. For neither of them is there a public paid car park listed within 400 metres; when you book, ask where to leave the car.
How far apart are the five clinics and when is it worth choosing another?
The three in the capital are very close together. By road and without traffic, from Chamberí to Retiro it is about 3 kilometres (6 minutes), from Chamberí to Castellana about 3.4 (7) and from Retiro to Castellana about 5 (9). Alcobendas is about 18-20 kilometres from all three, and between 20 and 25 minutes; Móstoles is about 20 from Chamberí (25 minutes), about 26 from Retiro (25) and about 26 from Castellana (29). Between Alcobendas and Móstoles there are about 43 kilometres, 38 minutes.
Those figures serve a practical decision: the clinic that suits you best is not always the closest to your home. If you work next to one and live next to another, or if you leave home for work in the opposite direction, the one that falls on your way may be worth it. With liposuction, moreover, the check-ups come early and with the compression garment on, so it helps for the journey to be short.
The cost of liposuction in Madrid: what it depends on
The amount comes after we assess you, because it depends above all on how many areas are treated in the same operation. We give it to you in writing and itemised.

Frequently asked questions
How far apart are the Madrid clinics?
By road, Chamberí, Retiro and Castellana are between 3 and 5 kilometres from one another; Alcobendas and Móstoles are about 18-26 kilometres from the three in the capital and about 43 from each other.
Where can you park near the clinics?
Near Chamberí there is a paid underground car park about 150 metres away in a straight line; near Retiro, about 250 in a straight line, and near Castellana, about 270 in a straight line. In Alcobendas and Móstoles no public paid car park is listed within 400 metres, so it is worth asking when you book.
How do I compare the "best rated" liposuction clinics in Madrid?
Look at how many reviews support each rating, because a 5.0 from a few counts for less than a 4.6 from hundreds. And ask for what no rating replaces: that they tell you in writing who will operate on you and where, with their medical registration and health registration numbers.
Is chin liposuction done the same way as on the rest of the body?
Not quite. It is a shorter procedure and, depending on how much fat there is, local anaesthetic may be enough; the technique and anaesthetic for your case are proposed by the surgeon after examining your neck.
Can I have my abdomen operated on if I want to have children?
You can consider it, knowing that a pregnancy changes the abdomen and can also change what the operation achieves. If you have children in your near-term plans, tell the surgeon at the first visit and weigh up together whether to operate now or later.
When can I train again after liposuction?
It depends on the area, and your surgeon gives you the guidance. For the thighs we allow three or four weeks until light sport and about six until intense; for the arms, four to six before going back to strength work.
How much does liposuction cost in Madrid and what does the quote include?
What moves the figure most is how many areas are treated and whether another surgery is added in the same operation; the technique, the anaesthetic and the hours in theatre also count. After the assessment, the quote comes in writing; ask for each item to be listed separately, including the compression garment and the check-ups.
