Our surgeon, Santiago Elvira, co-founder of Clínicas EGOS, was the focus of an article published on 31 January by Antena 3. The piece analyses the latest trends in cosmetic surgery and the most requested procedures.

The doctor explained how procedures vary in our clinics according to each decade of life – 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s – and how aesthetic priorities evolve depending on life stage and desired outcomes.
Aesthetic trends by age
Among younger patients, under 30, the main goal is to enhance the body’s natural shape. The most requested procedures include breast augmentation, liposuction and gynaecomastia surgery.
For patients between their 30s and 40s, surgical demand changes. This stage is strongly influenced by motherhood, and many women come to Clínicas EGOS seeking to restore their pre-pregnancy figure. This combination of procedures is commonly known as a “Mommy Makeover”. All surgeries are performed with strict medical standards, always tailored to the individual needs and characteristics of each patient
The most requested procedures during this stage include post-pregnancy surgery, lipoabdominoplasty and abdominal muscle repair.
For patients aged 50 and over, the doctor highlights blepharoplasty, facelifts and tissue repositioning techniques as the most sought-after procedures. The aim is subtle rejuvenation while preserving the natural expression of the face.
Surgical procedures for all ages
Finally, the doctor explains that some procedures are requested across all life stages and are not limited to a specific age group. These include rhinoplasty, buccal fat removal and otoplasty — a procedure performed on patients ranging from 6 years old to over 80.
Taboo procedures
Although still performed discreetly, intimate and genital surgeries are becoming increasingly popular. Among the most requested are genital surgery, penile lengthening and intimate treatments.
