Last Wednesday, 26 November, our plastic surgeon and founder of Clínica Egos appeared on Telecinco’s show “El tiempo justo”, where he shared a professional and well-informed perspective on a topic that’s been sparking a lot of debate: the use of breast milk for cosmetic purposes.
During the programme, Dr Tiago explained that although breast milk is a natural product, this doesn’t mean it’s safe for any use outside the context of breastfeeding. He pointed out that it may contain bacteria, viruses or other microorganisms, and since it doesn’t undergo any kind of sanitary control, applying it to the skin can pose risks.
Dr Tiago was clear in his message: breast milk should not be used for cosmetic purposes, as there are no supervision processes or preservation conditions that ensure its safety for such uses.
